Nominations for Coaches and Players for the 2017 Girls State Identification Program are now open.
Player Selection Criteria
Players that are currently registered with the Football Federation SA or Affiliated Junior Association shall be eligible to participate in the program.
Player’s eligibility for selection into a representative team is as follows:
Under 13 Born 2004, 2005 and 2006
Under 14 Born 2003
Under 16 Born 2001 and 2002
Under 13 players
Players should be nominated for relevant zone team according to their club registration. This list currently caters for all Girls & Women’s Clubs. Players from Junior Boy’s clubs will be allocated to their nearest zone.

*Zones have been based on player and team numbers per age groups to form a balance of numbers amongst the three zones. Additional clubs will be allocated accordingly.
#Only girls clubs that are likely to have U13 juniors have been listed. If you have U13 players and your club is not listed you may still nominate based on your location.
Under 14 and Under 16 players
Players are not required to be nominated for a particular zone as the structure for these age groups has changed for 2017. All nominated players will trial together before approximately 32 players (including Goalkeepers) will be selected and then split into two metropolitan teams.
Club Coaches, in cooperation with Club Officials are asked to submit a list of a maximum of 8 outfield players and 2 Goalkeepers in each age group (U16, U14 and U13).
Nominations should also include the position(s) they play or can play. *Please remember to include players who are playing up an age group, which could include players involved in Senior Teams.
It is a requirement that the players nominated attend a minimum of 2 trials prior to selection. If a player is sick or injured at the time of the trials, the coach of the team should be contacted.
Under 14 and Under 16
Wednesday 10 May and Friday 12 May (Wednesday 17 May if required) at The Parks Football Centre, Cowan Ave, Angle Park.
Under 14 (6 – 7pm)
Under 16 (7 – 8pm)
Wednesday 26 and Saturday 29 July (Wednesday 2 August if required) at The Parks Football Centre, Cowan Ave, Angle Park.
North/Central (6 – 7pm Wednesday and 11:30am – 12:30pm Saturday)
South (8 – 9pm Wednesday and 12:30 – 1:30pm Saturday)
Under 14 and Under 16 Structure
At the conclusion of the trial process approximately 32 players (including Goalkeepers) will be selected and then spilt into two Metropolitan teams to begin training in June as part of the Girls State Identification program.
Players will train at least once a fortnight, June through October. The program will then culminate with a carnival to be held October 13 – 15, 2017.
At the conclusion of the Carnival identified players will be invited in for additional trials aimed at selection into relevant 2018 Girls State Programs (NTC Girls or U15 Girls).
Under 13 Structure
At the conclusion of the trial process approximately 48 players (including Goalkeepers) will be selected and then spilt into three Metropolitan teams (North, Central and South) to begin training in August as part of the Girls State Identification program.
Players will train at least once a week August through October. The program will then culminate with a carnival to be held October 13 – 15 2017.
At the conclusion of the Carnival identified players will be invited in for additional trials aimed at selection into the 2018 U14 Girls State Program.
Points to Remember
- Only those players nominated by the club can be selected into the final squads, unless otherwise approved by the Football Federation SA.
- The Final Squad Selections will be made by representative team coaches, technical department, zone coaches and the approval of Football Federation SA.
- Junior Associations will be allowed to nominate their representative squad players for selection. This number must not exceed 5 players per age group. The names of those players must be submitted to the Football Federation SA.

Country teams are to be selected from all affiliated regional associations of Football Federation SA, selected by the appointed coach at the State Country Championships from the following associations:

– Yorke Peninsula Soccer Association
– Yorke Peninsula Futsal
– Port Lincoln Soccer Association
– Port Pirie Soccer Association
– Limestone Coast Soccer Association
– Riverland Soccer Association
– Whyalla Junior Soccer Association
Players will be selected into teams based on merit and attitude.
