Channel Nine Adelaide and Football Federation South Australia (FFSA) are proud to announce a new three-year partnership.

Nine will join as a major partner of the governing body for football (soccer) in South Australia, in an important development for the sport. The partnership will see a strong commitment from Nine News to promote football in South Australia, connecting with the football family through clubs, associations, competitions and major events.

Today’s announcement coincides with the release of fixtures ahead of the 2018 National Premier League (NPL) South Australia Finals Series, which kicks-off this weekend. Results from the 2018 NPL and Women’s NPL Finals Series will feature in Nine News’ Sunday evening sports bulletin.

Football Federation South Australia Chief Executive Officer Michael Carter acknowledged the significance of the agreement:

“The association with a commercial television partner such as Nine is a great outcome for Football in South Australia.”

“The partnership with Nine News will connect the grassroots to the semi- professional clubs. There are lots of great stories within the Football Family and celebrating them is important. Nine will help us achieve our goal of strengthening the brand throughout the state. We look forward to working with the Nine team over the next three years.”

“Nine is delighted to be partnering with the Football Federation of South Australia.”

“We have a strong and proud commitment to local sport in Adelaide through our sponsorship’s of the Adelaide Footy League and Netball SA and we look forward to working with the Federation and local clubs to promote the league across all levels of the competition.”

More information about the partnership will be announced at Football Federation South Australia’s annual awards night, the Celebration of Football, at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Saturday October 6.
