FFSA Cancer Council - Call To Arms 2012
Football Federation SA will be supporting Cancer Council SA’s Call To Arms once again in 2012.
We are calling on all South Australian Football Clubs to support this initiative and join the fight against cancer because when it comes to cancer, we’re all on the same team.
With 1 in 2 men being diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85 & 14 and men every day in South Australia hearing the words ‘you have cancer’, it’s not surprising that someone in your club may have a personal story relating to their own cancer battle or that of someone close to them.
The Football Federation SA Charity Month is being held this month of July, with Round 15 and 16 of the Senior Men’s Competition and Round 12 of the Women’s Elite Competition being the Charity Rounds.
The charity month provides the whole of the football community the opportunity to stand up and fight against cancer.
Funds raised from the charity month will be donated to Call To Arms, to assist Cancer Council in their fight against men’s cancers.
It is expected that all clubs will, at minimum, place donation boxes in their club and ask all players and officials to wear a yellow arm band during the nominated Charity Rounds.
All clubs are encouraged to undertake at least one other fundraising activity during the month of July.
For further information and to take part this year, all you have to do is register your club at www.calltoarms.com.au or call the team at Cancer Council SA on 1300 65 65 85 who will send you a Club Champion kit with everything you need.
