SA Indigenous Football Festival
Football Federation SA is pleased to announce that the inaugural State Indigenous 5 A-side Football Festival will be held at Burton Football Centre on Saturday October 27 from 10am to 4pm.
Over 140 players representing twenty teams from Port Augusta, Wiltja Residential Program, Kaurna Plains School, Elizabeth Fremont HS, Blakeview PS and Roma Mitchell Secondary College will participate in the event.
There will be divisions for 12-13 year-old Boys and Girls, and 14-15 year-old Boys and Girls (Four divisions in total).
The winners of the U13 Boys and Girls divisions will go on to represent South Australia in the National Indigenous Football Festival in Alice Springs from November 2-5.
The inaugural FFSA State Indigenous Football Festival is part of Football Federation Australia’s strategy to increase Indigenous participation in the world game.
The festival uses a five-a-side format which emphasizes maximum participation and enjoyment in an easy to understand game suitable for beginners and grassroots level players.
