Futsal has been identified by Football Federation Australia (FFA) and FFSA as a priority for the development of players and a major contributor to the future participation growth in Football nationally and within the state of South Australia.
Futsal can be played by children as young as five years old and is a major factor in developing players in countries like Brazil which recommend young players to continue with futsal as long as possible.
Academies operate in various zones around the State, including in regional areas. These academies make up the bulk of the South Australian Junior Squads which compete annually at the FFA National Futsal Championships.
The State Squads are made up of the following age groups.
Boys: Under 12 Development, Under 12, Under 13, Under 14, Under 14 (Regional) , Under 15, Under 16
Girls: Under 13, Under 15, Under 17.
