One of our Regional Program participants Antonios Vrastaminos from Berri River Rangers in the Riverland, has been given the opportunity to go on trial with Hyundai A-League outfit Central Coast Mariners and is guaranteed to play a couple of games for them as part of the process.

Antonios was identified by Mariners whilst representing FFSA in the Ultimate Fiji Cup back in December after some scintillating performances against International opposition.

John Mundy, FFSA’s Head of Game Development said:

“Antonios is an outstanding prospect and it’s important that we continue to provide opportunities through our pathways for talented country players and that Regional Associations and clubs support these initiative’s.”

Peter Preston from Central Coast Mariners added,

“Antonios was identified in Fiji playing for FFSA & I thought he did quite well so I spoke with John (Mundy) to find out a little bit more. He showed good potential so I followed up on my return home & before long he was on the plane & training with the Central Coast Mariners Academy.

He is just about to finish a two week trial before returning to Adelaide & in these two weeks he presented himself well & represented his family & home state strongly. Moving forward he will be given feedback from the Technical Staff & potentially an opportunity.”

FFSA would like to congratulate Antonios on this fantastic achievement and wish him all the best for his trial.
