Match Preview:

After only joining the State League 2 Competition in 2016, relative new boys Fulham United will play their first Grand Final this Saturday at Coopers Stadium against 2017 State League 2 League Winners Seaford Rangers.

Seaford will be keen to add another trophy to the cabinet after an impressive 2017 campaign and will come into the game off a week’s break after defeating Northern Demons in their two-leg semi final playoff.

Fulham has had the more difficult path to the Grand Final, overcoming Eastern United and Adelaide Cobras in hard fought elimination finals before demolishing Northern Demons on their own turf 5 – 1 last week in Port Pirie.

Mid-season signing Matthew Muscroft has scored 10 goals in 16 games for the Rangers and will no doubt be instrumental if his side is to succeed this weekend. He will be well supported by James Coley and Kindilon Maclean, while the experienced Marc Talbot will provide leadership in the last line of defence.

Fulham United’s firepower has not gone unnoticed this year, scoring more goals than any other State League 2 side. The western suburbs club banged in 77 goals in their 22 home and away fixtures, and backed this up with another 10 in their three finals series games. Sanjin Julardzija will look to add to his impressive tally of 27 goals in 24 games, while the Fulham faithful will be hoping Marco Mittiga can continue his impressive finals series form.

Both teams will come into the game knowing they’ve secured promotion to State League 1 for 2018 which will ease some of the pressure on the respective playing groups, and hopefully for the punters result in some free flowing, expressive and attacking football!
