WNPLSA Round 5 - Preview

WNPL Round 5

Metro United WFC vs Adelaide City FC
Venue: VALO Football Centre
Date: 5/04/2019 08:15 PM

These two history makers meet again. For the first time in 2019, the grand final rematch will take place. A Metro v City match is always an exciting one, but none more than this one. Both clubs enter the match as the only remaining undefeated teams so far this season. City has been outclassing the league without a full-strength squad, so imagine what they are capable of when they are at full strength. Metro though have shown their class of late, with 16-year-old shot-stopper Hunter Strudwick showing she is a class above the rest since filling in for injured first-choice keeper Liv Beer. Metro is coming off a 3-1 win over Fulham United and City will be aiming to continue last week’s goal dominance over Inter, coming out 5-2 winners. Many will be out to believe that this match will set the league straight with an early claimer for the trophy, with both clubs wanting to be ahead of the pack until Round 21 in mid-August.
